We are thrilled that Rolla Sweis has officially joined the La Rabida family this month as our new President and CEO. We are honored to have Rolla here, and are excited for her to bring her experience, passion, and vision to our “Gem on the Lake.” She will not only help us continue our commitment to providing exceptional care to children and families but will undoubtably propel us forward as we embrace new and exciting endeavors, as well.

As she embarks on this new voyage, Rolla says she’s looking forward to leading a team that has long provided highly specialized and quality care to patients. She is anxious to meet and get to know everyone. While her first week was a busy one, she set aside time to do just that, hosting two meet-and-greets for all staff to come introduce themselves and say hello.

Rolla was most recently Chief Operating Officer at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Prior to that, she was the VP of Operations for the South Chicagoland Hospitals which included Christ Medical Center, South Suburban Hospital, and Trinity Hospital. In these roles, Sweis was instrumental in optimizing hospital operations, strengthening service lines, implementing strategic objectives, and overseeing several multi-million-dollar construction and renovation projects.

Sweis began her career as a pharmacist and spent most of her clinical career as an emergency medicine pharmacist.  She received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois and a master’s in organizational leadership from Lewis University. She also holds an affiliate faculty appointment in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy.
