Our Approach

We provide high-quality, individualized, child and family-centered care in a nurturing and compassionate environment.

Our focus is on children with medical complexity, technology-dependence, chronic illness and developmental and other disabilities.

We provide emotional support to families so they can focus on bonding with, supporting and caring for their child during their prolonged illness and hospitalization. We believe that children thrive and heal best in an environment that supports their developmental and social-emotional needs while addressing their medical issues. By keeping the goals and values of the child and family at the forefront of every decision, we foster relationship-based healing.

Transitional Care

We ease the transition from intensive care units to home for medically-complex and technology-assisted patients and their families. With board-certified pediatricians in the hospital 24/7, a dedicated nursing staff, rehabilitation therapists, nutrition, child psychology and intensive case management and family education, we ensure children and their families get the best care and services they need both in and out of the hospital.

Baby Steps

For our youngest patients, we focus on improving social-emotional, developmental and cognitive skills while providing high-level medical and therapeutic care. Every child under the age of three years is assigned an Infant Development Specialist who will work with that child on a daily basis. Most patients also receive occupational and physical therapy depending on their needs and medical condition.

Inpatient Rehabilitation

We provide intensive rehabilitation to children with brain injuries, burns and other serious wounds and to orthopedic patients after injury or post-operatively. Each child receives an individualized rehabilitation plan crafted by experienced occupational, physical and speech therapists for at least three hours each day.

Acute Illness

We offer outpatient primary and specialty care to children with chronic illnesses and disabilities including cerebral palsy, sickle cell disease, diabetes and asthma.
