This year, La Rabida had the opportunity to recognize two extraordinary honorees. Richard M. Burridge Sr., received the Lifetime of Service Award in honor of his decades of support for La Rabida Children’s Hospital throughout his illustrious career. In his remarks, Mr. Burridge stated, “I challenge every one of you to get involved in a charity of your choice, and work as hard as you can to make that charity successful. That’s what giving back is all about.”
La Rabida also presented Vice President-Community Relations/Executive Director, Chicago White Sox Charities, Christine O’Reilly-Riordan with the Community Support Award. Christine was recognized for her unwavering support of the Chicago community and La Rabida. Christine reminded attendees, “We are a community that can be a force to really stoke the fire of hope that is La Rabida.
With 450 people in attendance, La Rabida raised nearly $450,000 for the hospital. The proceeds will continue to support our mission of helping every child and family regardless of their ability to pay.
