La Rabida patient named 'Player for
a Day' at Chicago Sky game

Lailah, a nine year old patient who receives therapy for her cerebral palsy, signed a one-day contract with the WNBA team, the Chicago Sky. She was presented with a personalized jersey during the Chicago Sky’s pre-game press conference with head coach, Amber Stocks. Lailah got to practice with the team during warm-up, was featured in the official team photograph and her name was announced in the starting lineup.

The mother of Lailah expressed how thrilled Lailah was for this opportunity, “Basketball is always something Lailah’s been great at—she loves being able to compete against her older brother and twin sister.”

We want to thank our friends at the Chicago Sky for making this one-of-a-kind opportunity for kids and their families at La Rabida possible.
