Project HEALTH
Project HEALTH (Helping Empower, Advocate and Lead Through Health) helps La Rabida families in need.
Linking Families to Resources
Project HEALTH, a nationwide advocacy center, troubleshoots a wide variety of life issues and connects families to public and private resources. The Project HEALTH Family Help Desk at La Rabida, staffed by student volunteers from the University of Chicago, can help our patient families resolve issues or access resources relating to:
- Food, housing and utility assistance
- Special education programs
- Child care
- Job training and placement
- Food, housing and utility assistance
- Eligibility and application for public assistance programs
- Fitness/nutrition programs
- Transportation
- Immigration services/English as a Second Language
- Household goods
- Summer camp programs
Legal Assistance, Too
In addition, legal services are available through the Chicago Medical-Legal Partnership for Children. Patient families can receive legal counsel at no charge.
We believe a family’s well being promotes the well being of their child. Our health care providers may refer families to Project Health’s Family Help Desk at our hospital campus. Or, patient families may self-refer.
