Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology is awarded to 2 individuals each year. The fellowship begins on September 1st and is a full-time, benefits-eligible position.  Clinical responsibilities include:

  • Evaluation and treatment of children who present with a medical illness/experience as either a medical  inpatient or as an ongoing outpatients.  These illnesses tend to be chronic (e.g.: diabetes, sickle cell disease, asthma, etc.) and present with issues related to coping, adjustment, pain management, and adherence. Fellows will provide medical inpatient consultation-liaison services and consultation support in medical outpatient clinics (e.g., diabetes or sickle cell)
  • Evaluation and treatment of typical clinical issues of childhood as referred by La Rabida pediatricians ( e.g.: behavior problems, mood, ADHD, etc.).

Qualified applicants must have completed or are currently completing an APA-approved predoctoral internship with child training. Positions begin September 1st.

Childhood Abuse and Trauma Fellowship the postdoctoral training fellowship in childhood trauma is awarded to one individual each year. The fellowship commences on September 1st and is a full-time, benefits eligible position. Clinical responsibilities include:

  • Abuse and trauma-focused assessment, consultation, and treatment of children who have experienced sexual or severe physical abuse
  • Trauma-focused consultation, assessment and treatment of children exposed to other potentially traumatic events, such as witnessing violence, medical trauma, or suffering a catastrophic injury

Qualified applicants must have completed, or are currently completing, an APA-approved predoctoral internship with child training.
