University of Chicago
For decades La Rabida and the University of Chicago Medical Center have partnered to deliver quality care to La Rabida's patients with special health care needs The University of Chicago provides attending physicians for inpatient care and physician services for outpatient clinics.
La Rabida serves as a training site for University of Chicago’s medical education and training programs.
Children's Memorial Hospital
In 2009 we established a similar arrangement with Children’s Memorial Hospital. Under the agreement, effective July 1, physicians from Children’s Memorial will staff La Rabida’s 5-bed unit for urgent care treatment of La Rabida's existing patients. In addition, Children’s Memorial Physicians will staff La Rabida’s hospitalist program.
Hospitalists are specially trained pediatricians who care for hospitalized patients, complementing the role of the primary care physician.
