Peggy Gann Named Board Chair

La Rabida Children’s Hospital Board of Trustees named Peggy Gann as Board Chair during its Annual Meeting on June 8, 2009.
Gann, who joined La Rabida’s board in 1998, said she remains impressed with the staff of the specialty hospital and the resolve of the leadership team, board and medical partners to care for children with lifelong conditions.
Increasing the hospital’s visibility and financial support are Gann’s top priorities as new chair.
“I simply want to continue moving us forward to meet the ever changing needs of our community and challenge us to go beyond our own expectations. We can be a national benchmark for a system that delivers 'safety-net' care of chronically ill, developmentally disabled and those who have experienced trauma without regard to ability to pay,’’ said Gann, retired Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Administration, Schneider Electric North America.
Gann replaces Allen Kanter, who served as Board Chair for 10 years and at large for 25 years. During his 10-year leadership role, Kanter, among many accomplishments, oversaw nearly $20 million in capital improvements at La Rabida’s lakefront facility.
