DiFiglio also will oversee the Lab and Radiology departments.

With more than 20 years of healthcare experience, DiFiglio has held positions in consulting, recruitment, education and as an expert witness.  She has held supervisory and management positions.

DiFiglio has a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from St. Xavier University and is a certified IDPH Train the Trainer’s assistant and a Certified Nursing Assistant Clinical Instructor.  She holds certifications in Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), Rehabilitation, Quality and Legal Nurse Consulting.  She is the Director at Large and and Past President of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants.

Sylvia Williams, RN, MSN
Sylvia Williams is La Rabida’s new Director of Education and Inpatient Nursing Services, overseeing the inpatient nurse staffing and quality of care on the 49-bed inpatient unit.  Her duties have been expanded to include directing the ongoing evaluation and compliance with federal and state standards for the care of children with chronic illness and disabilities.

La Rabida’s former education coordinator, Williams’ ongoing duties include planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the continued educational activities for the patient care division through collaboration with other disciplines and hospital departments.

Williams’ nursing career spans 20 years, 15 of which had been previously spent at La Rabida.  Her experience encompasses both school- and hospital-based nursing, management and teaching roles, including an ongoing position as adjunct clinical instructor at West Suburban College of Nursing.

Williams has a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Governor’s State University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Rush University. In addition, she is certified as a CPR instructor and Pediatric Advance Life Support.
